Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines field research as an essential epistemological and methodological component of qualitative research in the social sciences. It aims to identify its main foundations, requirements, methodological techniques, and the major difficulties encountered during fieldwork. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach to examine the theoretical and practical dimensions of field research, with particular emphasis on observation, participant observation, and interviewing. The findings show that effective fieldwork requires adequate theoretical preparation, careful planning, ethical commitment, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and systematic documentation.
The study also highlights the importance of balancing active engagement with the research community and professional scientific detachment. It concludes that methodological adaptability and the appropriate use of multiple research techniques are essential for overcoming fieldwork difficulties and ensuring the credibility and reliability of qualitative research.
